This page is dedicated to questions
regarding the functionality of
Collection Creator. For
technical support questions, see our support
page.
In
the Collection Properties window you
enter information such as Company,
URL, Description, etc. Does that
information get carried over into the
Collection when it is distributed to
my customers?
Yes.
Within Collection Cruiser, when your
collection is opened, a menu item will
be added to the help menu. When
the user selects this menu item, it
will display the information you
entered on the Collection Properties
window, along with the date and time
you created the collection.

How
do I include a HTML file that has
graphics?
In
order to include an HTML page that has
graphics, you need to include all of the
graphic files into the collection as
well. You need to add the graphics
files in the same relative location as
they are referenced within the HTML
page. For example, if within the
HTML page you include an image
<IMG src="images/myimage.jpg">
then you will want to create a
sub-folder called images on the
Collection Content tab. This
folder needs to be at the same level
that you added your HTML page. Add
all of the graphics for the page to the
images folder.
If you use the Item Generator feature,
select the folder in the Collection
Content view and select "Mark As
Excluded" from the Content
menu. This will tell the
Item Generator you do not want to
generate items for these files.
Otherwise, you will receive warnings
stating that these files do not have an
associated item when you verify the
collection.

How
do I include files in my collection
without adding them to the Cruiser
layout? I want the files to be
included on the CD I distribute, but not
be referenced within Collection Cruiser.
You
can add any number of files to a
collection that will be included in the
installation without referencing them
within Collection Cruiser. Simply
add the files you want to the Collection
Contents tab, but do not add a reference
to them on the Cruiser Layout tab.
If you use the Item Generator to
automatically generate your layout for
you, then you will need to remove the
references to the specific files you do
not want referenced. The easiest
method of doing this would be to create
a sub-folder on the Collection Contents
tab, and then add all of these files to
this folder (or sub-folders of this
folder). Then you can easily just
remove the this folder from the Cruiser
Layout tab once you have used the Item
Generator feature.
This
will include the files in your
collection and install them to your
customers PC, but they will not be able
to be viewed within Collection
Cruiser. This is helpful if you
want to include alternate formats of
files to be viewed on PDAs or other
portable devices. You can then add
a document to the Cruiser Layout that
mentions these files and how to access
them.
When
you verify or create your installation,
you will get warnings that you have
included these files but not referenced
them. As long as the warning
reference the specific files you meant
not to reference, you can ignore these
warnings.
